Alstom and the City of Perth in Australia
SIG4 Engineering is involved alongside ALSTOM in the modernization of the railway network in the city of Perth, Australia.
In these very preliminary phases of the project, the work involves analyzing the needs expressed by the client (PTA: Perth Transport Authority) and translating them into technical solutions to be implemented on the legacy CBTC solution provided by ALSTOM: URBALIS 400 in GoA-2 mode. The specificities of this project include: the vast size of the network; the desire to minimize the number of signaling equipment deployed in the field; the management of numerous level crossings; the handling of trains with different gauges (standard and narrow trains); the usual challenges of a « brownfield » migration; the numerous interfaces with legacy systems during and after the migration phase; and more. Numerous technical workshops are planned with the client, both remotely and in person, to fine-tune the ideal solution.
